Woman Who Looks Like Lady Gaga Says She’s Constantly Asked By ‘Fans’ To Take Pictures

It must be equally flattering and annoying to be a person who was born looking exactly like a famous person. There’s a woman in the UK who looks like Lady Gaga, and as a result she says she’s regularly stopped by people in the street who mistake her for the star.

Katie Hilliard, 25, from Essex, says she was 15 when she was first told by someone that she resembled the singer and recent Oscar winner. As the years have gone by, more and more people have also pointed out their similarities to her.

Katie, who works as a furniture salesperson, says she does have dreams to maybe one day make a career out of her  Lady Gaga likeness, who’s real name is Stefani Germanotta.

Although she has not officially started working as a lookalike just yet, there has been a few times when she’s dressed up and danced as the singer at parties and events, but she still hasn’t had the courage to sing any of Gaga’s songs in public.

Katie has also managed to gain a fair amount of followers of her own on social media – most of those being fans of Lady Gaga.

“I get a lot of attention from her fan base and I speak to them frequently,” Katie explained. “I do get stopped in the street quite a lot. Especially when her fan base know that Lady Gaga is in London.”

“I have over 3,000 Facebook friends and I’d say more than two thirds of them are Lady Gaga fans. Sometimes people think that I am Lady Gaga pretending to be a girl called Katie to get a sense of normality again and to avoid ‘the fame’,” Katie added.

If you’re wondering if she’s ever gotten to meet her twin in person, you’ll be happy to know that Katie did indeed get a chance to, very briefly, meet Lady Gaga in London not too long ago.

When Lady Gaga was in town for her “A Star Is Born” premier, Katie made sure that she attended and was able to meet the singer and actress. Katie even said that Gaga looked “fairly confused” when she first saw Katie.

“We didn’t have much chance to speak but she looked at me fairly confused and smiled and I told her I loved her and she told me she loved me too,” Katie said.

She also added, “She was so elegant and polite and has an amazing aura. I was lost for words and wish I had more time to speak to her. It left me speechless.”

While it can be fun to be a lookalike, it’s not without its downsides. Katie says that she’s had to put up with the occasional online troll who accuses her of being “fake”, something that Katie vehemently denies, insisting that the only changes to her look that will make her more Gaga-esque, is the occasional wig change.
