We all have a pretty good idea of what we’d do if we won the lotto – I’d pay off student loans and buy a house (practical and boring, I know). But hardly anyone ever thinks about the bigger question: would you go public or remain anonymous?
One very lucky lottery winner in Jamaica has taken anonymity to another level when he collected his winnings check while dressed in the famous mask from the slasher film “Scream”.
The winner, a man who only is known as ‘A. Campbell’, went to collect his winnings in the full Ghostface costume. He picked up a check for a satisfying $158.4 Jamaican dollars, which is about 1.17 million in US dollars.
Campbell hadn’t claimed his winnings for 54 days, leading Super Lotto owners Supreme Ventures to place ads encouraging the winner to come forward to collect their prize before the 90-day expiration date.
While the money is welcomed, Campbell told the St. Lucia News that he’d been feeling unwell every since he learned of his good fortune.
“I looked at my ticket and ran into my bathroom and said, ‘I won! I won!’ From the day I found out that I won, I’ve been sick. My head hurt me for three days because I was thinking so much, [wondering] if what I’ve been longing for really came true. I had a belly ache for two weeks, sometimes I feel so much pain I forgot that I had won.” He explained.
I think we’d all take a little anxiety for some lotto winnings.
Now the question every wants to know is what he plans on doing with the money now that he’s won and collected it. Campbell has a simple answer for that.
“I want to get a house, I want to get a nice house. I haven’t found it yet, but I’ll be looking for one soon.”

It’s hard to begrudge a man who picks up his winnings with such flair. Let’s just hope that he’ll stop having stomach aches soon so he can enjoy his winnings. As for the rest of us, we’ll just have to keep playing the game.
