The Gosselin family has shown up a lot in the news lately.
Any fans of the Jon and Kate Plus 8 show were able to get a glimpse of Collin, one of their sextuplets who was treated at a facility for those with ‘special needs’.
A picture of his 14-year-old son was shared by Jon and his sister, Hannah on Instagram. They wanted people to know that they ‘had a good weekend visit with Collin at home’.
Collin was also part of another picture that his father posted this year but most of the family pictures that have been shared by Kate did not include him. On the other hand, they did include the other siblings. He also wasn’t on the last few seasons of the show.
Collin was sent away and it stirred a lot of controversy. In addition, Jon said that Kate did not reveal where he was taken to.
“I have an idea where he is but I don’t really know where he is,” Jon told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “[Kate] says that Collin is in a special school for special needs kids with behavioral problems. I mean, I ask but she doesn’t tell me. She doesn’t answer any of my texts.”
Many people began to get suspicious because Kate was so secretive about her actions. She was accused of not caring for her son, forgetting about him and not including him on special occasions and holidays.
Jon did not share in the consensus that there were behavioral problems with Collin. He was openly disappointed with Kate because she didn’t discuss the issues with their son.
“I could see my kids getting annoyed with that because he’s the smartest and he does this, and he does that, and he always wants it his way,” he said. “He’s very particular, which could be bothersome. But, he’s very loving too. He was a cuddly kid as a baby.”
He added, “I love my children very much. I’ve always been there for them and I always will be. It’s shocking.”
After three long years, Collin is heading home. He was released from an inpatient center and the 14-year-old had been living there but there is a twist to the plot. It seems as if he is not heading back to his mother’s house.
According to an exclusive report, Jon has already filed the necessary paperwork to gain physical custody of his son after he is released from the facility.
The papers were filed by the father on October 24. In his words, it would be in his son’s best interest to live in his home.
Some reports have stated that their son has lashed out at the mother and has been dealing with some serious anger issues. Other reports have said that Kate was an abusive mother and that made the situation worse.
“Jon used to have to grab Kate by her wrist to stop her from beating Collin and some of the other kids with a wooden spoon,” an insider said.
An investigation was launched by the Children and Youth Services as a result of those accusations but they didn’t find anything to act on.
This decision by the father is certainly going to anger Kate, who has been trying to gain custody of Hannah, their daughter. She lives with her father permanently.
It would appear that Jon is not concerned about how Kate feels about it and he has even shared another picture of his son, hinting that the new arrangement is in the works.
“A HUGE thank you to Eric Rodriguez @ebarber828 at Mike and Joes Barbershop for welcoming my son Collin home with a fresh new cut!!!” the proud father wrote in the Instagram caption.

There are also other children involved but Jon is only receiving visitation, while Kate enjoys full custody. Some of those children also have nothing to do with their father, including Alexis and the twins, Mady and Cara.
The father currently only has contact with Aaden, Leah, Joel, and of course, Collin and Hannah.
