It’s been made official: Jennifer Lawrence is engaged to boyfriend, Cooke Maroney.
Lawrence and Maroney have been spotted together for months now, primarily in New York City. People Magazine has reported the relationship began in early May, and sources told the magazine that Lawrence has never seemed so happy or been more comfortable with a boyfriend before.
An anonymous source stated they’d seen Lawrence wearing a “giant rock” just ahead of Lawrence’s representative confirming the engagement. No other details have been released so far.
So, who exactly is Lawrence’s new fiancé?
While Maroney doesn’t work in Hollywood, he has plenty of ties to celebrities through his work as an art purveyor for many wealthy and famous clients, including the father of Lena Dunham. Maroney is the art director at Gladstone 64, which according to their website is “a leading contemporary art gallery with locations in New York and Brussels.”
It is reported that Lawrence met Maroney through a mutual friend.
In the past, she has spoken of her hope to find her soul mate and get married.
“I can’t wait to be married,” she told Vogue back in 2015 during an interview.
“I feel like if I find that one person who I want to spend the rest of my life with, who I want to be the father of my children,” that she wouldn’t ruin the relationship.
While details about the upcoming nuptials are still unknown, fans can speculate whether Lawrence will have plenty of famous bridesmaids or not, as she has humorously spoken against the tradition in the past.
“Weddings rock, but I will never be a bridesmaid again,” she explained to Vanity Fair, “There needs to be a bridesmaids’ union. It’s horrendous. If anyone asks me again, I’m going to say, ‘No. That part of my life is over. I appreciate the ask.’ If I do ever get married, I don’t think I will have bridesmaids. How can I rank my friends?”
Only time will tell what she decides to do in terms of a bridal party, but we are wishing her all the best, and we’re looking forward to seeing pictures of the wedding when it happens.
