Chris Pratt is well known to most of us for his series of roles as a likable everyday Joe. While he has since toned up to become a superhero who saves the day in his newer films, he still retains a certain amount of Everyman appeal that allows the rest of the world to feel as if they are a part of his success. The response to his engagement announcement is proof.
He popped the question to his girlfriend, Katherine Schwarzenegger, and she said yes! The two have been dating quietly for several months now and have decided that they are indeed ready to put a ring on it. The announcement came as a bit of a surprise to those who were just getting used to the idea of them as a couple. Don’t they look absolutely adorable together, though?
Chris has been appreciative of Katherine ever since she came into his life. He even took time out to let his massive Instagram following know just how much she meant to him with a touching post on her 29th birthday. Pratt told her that her smile lights up any room that she is in and that he has cherished all of the time that they spend together.
It is good to see that even the rich and famous men out there are not afraid to get sappy when it comes to the woman that they love. Yes, Katherine is a part of THAT Schwarzenegger family. Her mother is Maria Shriver and her father is none other than the Terminator himself. We wonder if Chris took the time to ask Arnold for his daughter’s hand in marriage.
reviously Chris was married to Anna Faris, star of the Scary Movie films and the sitcom Mom. After eight years of marriage, they announced they were filing for divorce. “Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward,” the couple said in a joint statement. “We still love each other and will always cherish our time together.”
On Instagram, Anna commented on her ex-husband’s engagement news, writing, “I’m so happy for you both! Congratulations!” Divorce can often be messy, but it appears the House Bunny and F.B.I. Special Agent Burt Macklin have no bad blood. The couple has agreed on a “flexible timeshare” to co-parent their son, Jack. And according to court documents, they’ve agreed to live no further than five miles apart until Jack finishes the sixth grade.
Anna opened up about her love life following the split. Regarding her ex, she said, “Chris and I work really hard ‘cause we have Jack, that is sort of the long game idea and making sure Jack is really happy, which makes us really happy. We have sort of the luxury of circumstance. You know, we are both in other loving relationships. … But it’s like, how do you not in general sink into a place of bitterness?”
She added, “I do want to reiterate though that I f**king acknowledge — we all do, everyone acknowledges — that there is bitterness and pain with all breakups and that hopefully makes us human. But the long game is just the worst, being the bigger person. It just is. It f**king sucks. Until then, what matters most is that everyone’s happy.”
Currently Anna is dating cinematographer Michael Barrett, so don’t worry about her, she’s doing just fine.
